Dubai International

Salaam all! I have arrived safe and sound at Dubai International - this place is crazy, people everywhere, and it's only 6am local time! One thing I have noticed is that there are no queues - for anything! Getting through the initial baggage check reminded me of a farm scene with cattle being herded willy-nilly through the smallest gate - when there was one twice the size next to it unused!

The Emirates terminal at Dubai is being built, so we had to take a 15min shuttle to the terminal. The shuttle was quite crowded, and the driver didn't turn on the a/c until we got out (?) so it was a little stinky! It's nice outside here though, about 17C, slight breeze, plus FREE wireless - bonus!

So the first leg of the journey was not so bad, lots of turbulence but the food was actually quite good - an achievement! Actually with the exception of breakfast - egg noodles or egg ommlette - ewwww! Ended up with an isle seat *cheer* and the people sitting on the inside rarely got up which was great. Not to much sleep though, decided I'd wait till I left Bangkok then realised that they were going to serve breakfast and snacks to ended up with three hours... Unforunately not going to be so lucky with my connecting flight, I'm wedged in at the window - might try a trade!

So yeah, that's all the boring stuff - no pics yet, battery dying. More later.
