Gas Truck

This is my friend the gas truck. He starts driving around the area with his little jingle going from 7.30am until 4.30pm - non stop. When you want gas you chase him down so you can trade your canister for one of his. Check out the little boy chasing the truck!

Sorry that it's sideways - you get the drift anyways

Wa aleikum salam sis,
No classes haven't started yet, orientation is on the 26th insha'allah. I've found I have so much time on my hands I don't know what to do with it, especially since it gets dark so early here...
Kheir insha'allah, I'm sure I'l hardly post one I'm studying - everynone keeps telling me how intense it is...
Ma'a salama

(PS you look like a real A-rab using numbers for letters and all!)

C-Town is not CHINA-town --> its just the name of the supermarkets here... Maybe "cheap" town? Although its not that cheap.
Al-hamdoulillah my room mates are good, the last one arrived last night at 10pm - I was out cold, just met her she seems nice... They are both Americans!
My time to waste is officially over as of 9am this morning - I have my orientation and entrance exam...
Could go masjid hopping, there are about 5 masjids in a 5km radius from my house (that means a wave of adhans in the mornings).

So far its been as I have expected - I could live here but not long term - I miss being able to flush toilet paper! I've found some foodie items, but I'm doing the budget thing for the moment - even so I think I'll run out of cash! Plenty of good looking arabs - none I'm interested in Al-hamdoulillah!

You are cheeky miss Finty - and while it has been rather quiet without your 101 questions, it's been nice! lol How's Sydney? the new place etc?

Oh Finty... so many questions...
There is a little bit of non-arab food here if you mean for eating out... They have most things we can get in the supermarket except its all more pricey and some of the quality is really bad - the fruit and veg is pretty crappy unless you go to the markets...
No, the blog is open, but only registered users can comment and I moderate all comments.
Not interested because they don't speak English, and they'd only want me for my visa (and potentially the hot body that they can't really see)...
I speak what arabic I can, but they know you're foreign just by looking at your shoes - Jordanian women dress very stylishly and wear heals EVERYWHERE! They must have such bad backs! I tell off the shop keepers who try to rip us off, that's about it.
The masjids here are ok, they aren't fancy or anything, in fact most are pretty basic, but they are everywhere.
What pics do you want?
Orientation was ok, the test took me all of 30 seconds - long enough to look at each page, work out it was impossible and walk out! My oral interview lasted 2mins - and they started laughing at my reading! (ok so I have'nt really been practicing)...
I definitely idn't pass, but that's cool I just go into level one insha'allah - where I knew I'd be... Al-hamdoulillah
Yeah the girls I live with are all studying too, but they probably won't be in my class. They are American, but not reverts. The arabs are ok - when they aren't trying to rip you off! I'm actually really surprised at how few people here have functional English, its really hard sometimes.
Arab women usually won't speak with you - you give salam and they ignore it - the men I don't bother with... Actually, there was this guy at the beled who I was buying niqaabs from he was so funny - spoke a little english and decided that he would model all the khimars and niqaabs for us! You would have loved it - Al-hamdoulillah for the niqaab!
